Canvas, art and hand-painted FLOOR CLOTHS

From place mats, to 2' x 3' up to 9' x 11' area rugs!

hand-painted FLOOR CLOTHS These hand-painted floor canvases are always done in water-based paints. They were used in Early American homes in place of expensive carpets. The inlaid marble example above (9” X 11’) replaced a rug my client’s dogs ruined; this is now the living room centerpiece. They conform to the floor’s surface, taking on the pattern of brick, tile or wide floorboards. Decorative and easy to clean they make marvelous rug substitutes for places where temperatures or moisture fluctuate and where heavy use are issues; especially kitchens, sun porches or powder rooms.
